Make Your Resolution A Reality
The New Year is a blank slate; a defining time that prompts us to reflect upon the events of the past and define our goals for the future. Indeed, it is the most logical point to “resolve” to do things differently in the upcoming year.
At its very essence, a New Year’s resolution is a commitment to change. This change begins with a personal vow or a “resolution” to do things differently and the spirit to stay the charted course when routine beckons. A resolution born of personal desire and fortified with an unwavering commitment to accept change is a powerful vehicle for personal growth and spiritual transformation.
However, the demanding work schedules, family obligations and home improvements quickly returning as top priorities, New Year’s resolutions to “get fit” and “lose weight” are all too easily dismissed.
The commitment to “get in shape” means more than purchasing a gym membership or a treadmill. First and foremost, it means the willingness to make real changes and the inner drive to take the resolution, that hope for the New Year make it a reality. Declaring the resolution is the easy part; remaining committed to the goal for the 365 days to follow can test the soul.

1 Set SMART goals: In order to increase your chances of being successful at achieving your goals ensure all your goals are ‘SMART’. Your goals should follow the guidelines:
S = Specific
M = Measurable
A = Attainable
R = Realistic
T = Time Frame
2. Notice and appreciate the small changes in your body. The small changes are the building blocks for total transformation.
3. Invest in a good personal trainer. A personal trainer is a source of motivation and encouragement as well as a resource for the latest information on health, fitness and nutrition. Your personal trainer will help you define and reach your goals by designing a safe and effective workout program especially for you.
