Success Story: Doris
I have always considered physical activity to be a high priority in my life and have consistently gone the extra mile to ensure that I kept up with a fitness regime of some description. Over the last few years I had become accustomed to waking up early to go to the gym before work, where I was routinely doing many exercises, which unfortunately, in turn, were doing very little for me. It was frustrating, I was putting in the time....but where were my results? This past March I began to work with a Defining Eve trainer, and low and behold! Within weeks of starting the program I started to see, and feel, changes in my body. I started to get the results I was looking for!
My decision to hire a personal trainer was rooted in my desire to a) become more efficient with my training b) learn to follow an exercise program that I could do in the comfort of my own home (heading to the gym for six o'clock in the morning was never really my cup of tea), and c) improve my fitness and my physique. Working with my trainer has helped me to achieve all of this.
Having a weekly appointment with a trainer keeps me motivated. A steady progression of exercises keeps my interest and the results are very encouraging. In fact, I attribute much of my success to having a professional personal trainer. I plan to continue my weekly sessions and have started to set my sights on new goals that we will work towards, such as a 1/2 marathon this fall (I am optimistic that I can do it!).
I continue to meet with my trainer once a week now and complete two more resistance training sessions on my own. I have also started doing interval training on the track twice a week and completing a long run once every week.
I have learned that it is not the quantity of exercise that counts, it is the quality. It now takes me 30 minutes to complete all of my exercises (as opposed to an hour). I no longer need to drive to the gym in the wee hours of dawn. Defining Eve has helped me to make my lifelong exercise habit more attainable, more accessible. I would also like to add that my trainer was very capable of evaluating my fitness level, understanding my past regime, and working with me to build a program that suited all of my needs. There was never any encouragement to push myself beyond my limits. I have never experienced pain as a result of overworking my body. All gain, no pain.
